After graduating from West Virginia University with an MFA in fiction in 2010, I taught writing at Kent State Tuscarawas until August 2025. I learned from and will forever owe much to my Tusc colleagues. Now, I’m eager to ply my writing and teaching skills to a career in copywriting.
My wife, son, and I live in New Phila, OH. My wife recently completed her master’s in art education and loves creating art with her elementary students and running with her high school athletes. My son has recently discovered Minecraft and regales me each morning with stories of his adventures building and battling in the Overworld. Both join me in my enthusiasm for Ohio summers, books, animated films, and all things LEGO.
When I’m not reading, writing, building, or walking our energetic puppy twice a day, I’m usually trying to stay lost as long as possible wherever my imagination has led me. Stories, essays, and poems of mine have appeared in Inwood Indiana’s Salem Cemetery issue and online at Prick of the Spindle, Souvenir Lit, FunnyinFiveHundred.com, and Apeiron Review.
